Glamorganshire Golf Club
Description
You can find us in the seaside town of Penarth, near to Cardiff, in the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan in Wales (Cymru).
The Glamorganshire - founded in 1890, the fourth oldest club in Wales - is steeped in history.
It was here in September 1898 that the Stableford scoring system was first tried by its creator, Dr. Frank Stableford then a member of The Glamorganshire.
In recent years the clubhouse has been completely re-developed and offers excellent dining and changing room facilities. There have also been numerous improvements to the golf course.
The par 70, 6,184 yard golf course, enjoying stunning views over the sea, is not actually a links, but an 18-hole parkland course on undulating ground at the eastern edge of Cosmeston Lakes Country Park. With narrow wood-lined fairways, well-guarded greens, water hazards and over eighty strategic bunkers, it offers a stern but fair test to golfers at all levels.
